Reporter Richard "Dick" Sherman
Yes, It's true... I rock!
... And did I mention, I really hate my job..! I'm sure you can relate.
About Reporter Dick
All around good guy with a penchant for uncovering truth even in the most challenging situations.
I've got over 2000 awards for a variety of sports I've excelled in since the age of 4, when I ran my first mile. This was the first record I ever set - being the quickest in my neighborhood to make it through the gauntlet unscaved. My grandma wanted me to get her some smokes from the local store. While I did ruin my favorite sneakers, which reduced my overall running speed, it was worth it... Grandma gave me a whole glass of Kool-Aid - with sugar in it, and I was in heaven. I still drink Kool-Aid today.Oh yeah, I'm also a damn good Reporter, hence the upcoming film about my victory over hatred, lies, dysfunction, and some really bad folk.

Why I like News
The truth is never grey. It is black and white - or Black or White, to be precise. Nonetheless, I hate liars or folk who simply don't read.
The harsh truth is while I love news, I really dislike people who get on my nerves. I know I've got some challenges - who doesn't - but I don't let that get in the way. I just wish my employers would some day see that. One of these days I'll make it big, then all the haters can kiss my... sorry, got beside myself... I'll pray for all my haters... that they have a good, rewarding, and productive life... if I can remember.

Favorite Poem
A Snow Man
By: AnonymousOh, the beautiful snow!
We’re all in a glow—
Nell, Dolly, and Willie, and Dan;
For the primest of fun,
When all’s said and done,
Is just making a big snow man.
Two stones for his eyes
Look quite owlishly wise,
A hard pinch of snow for his nose;
Then a mouth that’s as big
As the snout of a pig,
And he’ll want an old pipe, I suppose.
Then the snow man is done,
And to-morrow what fun
To make piles of snow cannon all day,
And to pelt him with balls
Till he totters and falls,
And a thaw comes and melts him away.This charming poem comes from A Christmas Hamper: A Volume of Pictures and Stories for Little Folks.
Food For Thought
What goes around comes around
Chances are you've said or done something that either made you happy or really pissed you off. Same here... in both cases. Anywho, the lesson to be learned is quite simple: stop doing things you dislike doing. Once upon a time I had to do things I hated doing (like getting up at 5 am, going to a job I hated, smiling at the boss, smiling at co-workers, smiling at people I interviewed, even just smiling, to name a few) and I learned a valuable lesson the last time I got fired. "What's the lesson, Dick?" Great question. Simple answer is I learned the lesson of maintaining Patience while planning to realize my greatest self. Now Patience didn't quite appreciate me and it cost a grip to keep her maintained (hair, nails, teeth, etc.), but keeping her captive required as such and I really needed Patience back then. As things go, it was a great decision and got me where I am today. My advice to anyone chasing a dream no one else seems to care about: perfect the art of IDGAF (more on IDGAF later).

Where's the irony in your story?
News Stories Wanted
The best news comes from folk with something to gain, or who want to get rid of a perceoved threat... or sometimes people just feel lonely and want to be heard. Regardless, send your story in... if I like it I might give you a call to see if I can get the team on it. You never know...
